EUROPEAN EXHIBITIONS

Seward Johnson was selected as the only sculptor to represent the United States at the World EXPO celebration in Seville, Spain. There was an exhibition of his lifesize bronzes on display at the U.S. Pavilion and at the consulate's residence. The artist was selected by the United States Information Agency for this honor.

This show continued in the cities of Turin, Milan, and the Isle of Sardinia and will follow in Berlin in 1999.

The Lincoln Fellowship of Pennsylvania, a prestigious group of Lincoln scholars, recently com- missioned a lifescale sculpture of Abraham Lincoln by Seward Johnson. Entitled "Return Visit," this unique piece combines a stunning likeness of President Lincoln with the figure of a 20th century man at his side. It is permanently placed at Gettysburg Plaza, the historic site where Lincoln delivered the Gettysburg Address.

Recent purchases have been made by a major bank in Sydney, Australia (five sculptures), a British developer for placement in Hong Kong (six sculptures), a museum (two sculptures) and public park (three sculptures) in Osaka, Japan, and private collectors in Singapore, Istanbul, Paris, London, New York, Spain, and Los Angeles. A comprehensive listing of corporate collections and public placements is available.
